This week we’re joined by Sarah Vela from SarahVela.net. Sarah is a communications specialist based in Austin, Texas. She is also a panelist on the podcast Push My Follow Sarah was visiting from Texas and we talk about living in Texas originally being from the North East and social adjustments you have to make because of that. She’s also lived in Osaka, Japan as a nanny and at the Putney School in Vermont. It might sound like a communist hippie school, but she says it isn’t. Find her on Twitter as Orchid8.
This week, Amber is joined by Carissa, from CarissaBeal.com. They discuss how they became friends and get immediately distracted by a See and Say. Carissa talks about working for Yahoo!, and HotJobs specifically. Amber and Carissa feel a little lost and talk about how to spark their creative interests, without being “dress over pants”. Carissa prefers men who sing Rihanna on acoustic guitar, if you’re interested. Carissa lives in Chelsea, where she’s criticized for dragging her dog and bumps into movie stars on a regular basis. This week, we’re joined by Dana, aka WankerGirl from blarmcast.com. Dana discusses her fascination with the Real World and Much Music in America. Dana also talks about her podcast, BLARMCast, the origins of the word and the aura of her pseudonym WankerGirl. For the first time, Dana leaves Rob completely speechless when he asks the “something new” question. A question about burlesque dancing turns into a conversation about the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. A completely unknowledgeable conversation about Canadian and Alaskan history breaks out before wrapping up.
This week, Rob interviews Nicole from Something Found. They discuss their shared neighborhood of Bedford Stuyvesant. As two people who grew up in areas that look very different from this neighborhood, their point of view is a little skewed. They also discuss Nicole being a cat owner, her cat cat Snow Day, and briefly strip clubs in Narnia. Despite trying to avoid talking about the Boy Scouts, Nicole has a Boy Scount story to tell. While she was a Boy Scout and a tom boy, she was still girly while playing with the boys.
This week, Rob interviews Chris Cavs from Filmosity. They discuss Chris’ tenure with the Boy Scouts, his Eagle Scout service project, Ellis Island, the book from Eliis Island, and what Chris’ ideal job is. “The Book”, by the way, can be found at ellisisland.org. It’s not real, despite being referenced in this scene in the movie ‘Hitch’.
This week, Amber interviews Dan Patterson from Creepy Sleepy. They discuss Dan’s departure from the Boy Scouts, his preparedness for armageddon, ice cream and his love of the power of audio and radio. Dan breaks out his “radio voice” from his rock radio days, and answers a question from Twitter about taking risks. Also, the purple gurple, That’s Our Curtis, and Dan’s stance on pants.
